This year, I am taking part in a reading program for children; I have decided to lend my voice to the summer Reading Tents.
The Reading Tents is the only Frontier College program running during the summer. Basically, we go in day camps and festivals in the poorest neighbourhoods of Montreal to read to children who are approximately from 2 to 12 years old. We set up a tent and carry along a big trunk of books to these events. We accept book donations!

Here is the Reading Tents activity list for next week, starting July 8th. There will be one English tent:
Tuesday, July 8th
la Roulotte au parc Wilfrid-Bastien from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.. This is a French tent presented before an outdoor play. It's an outdoor event, so the tent will be cancelled if there is rain. To go there from Cadillac station, on the green line, take bus 32 Lacordaire Northbound. Get off on Des Galets street. The park is at 8255, Lacordaire Boulevard.
Wednesday, July 9th
St-Columbia House from 9:30 a.m. to noon. This is an English tent for a day camp. They have an interior space available, so we won't cancel this one in case of bad weather. The address is 2365, Grand Trunk street. That's the Charlevoix station on the green line.
Wednesday, July 9th
la Roulotte au parc Wilfrid-Bastien from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. This is a French tent presented before an outdoor play. It's an outdoor event, so the tent will be cancelled if there is rain. From Crémazie station on the orange line, take bus 54 Chartrand/Chabanel Eastbound. Get off at the de Lille stop. Walk 450 metres south.
Thursday, July 10th and Friday, July 11th
CCSE Club les Pirouettes Maisonneuve (4375, Ontario est), from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This is a French tent in a day camp. There is an indoor space available. The tent won't be cancelled in case of rain. From Pie-IX station on the green line, take bus 125, Ontario east. The address is 4375, Ontario street east.
